Charles Cecil made a 30 min conference about self publishing, on february 7th 2014 during the White Night Mobile Games Conference 2014 in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
If you haven’t watched his interview by Novosoft during this event, you can watch it here
This conference was named "Adventures in Self Publishing - Tales from the Coal Face".
Charles explains the parallel between the birth of the computer industry and what’s happening now. He talks about his first games before he founded revolution software in 1990, and what are the major changes in the industry (costs of development, the release of the first PlayStation and first iPhone, and different rules of marketing due to these new products).
He also gives some advice about Revolution’s strategies (about PR, digital assets etc.) and talks about their relationship with Apple for the last five years and its consequences.
Finally, Charles Cecil gives us a reminder of the launch of the Kickstarter campaign in 2012, and how they handle development in Revolution.
You can watch the full 30 minutes conference above, thanks to Novosoft.
The big downside of this video is the relatively poor filming, sometimes not following him on the frame.
Therefore we can’t see what Charles is showing the audience on the screen (or sometimes barely), but considering his conference we can easily guess.
I added it in my Interviews & trailers page, where there are also great other videos to discover.
Enjoy, like and share ;-)
